The Koran says the Jews are,in effect, the Chosen People, but it is not Permanent

The NT says that the Jews are still the Chosen People of God,it is affirmed by Paul,a Jew himself. The Koran says the same thing,by saying Allah preferred them over all others, but it is not permanent.

Example 1:

Romans 11:1-2:

“I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.God did not reject his people, who he foreknew. ”

Example 2:

Paul says that after a considerable number of non-Jews have accepted Jesus then the entire Jewish people would also be saved by God.It is a prophecy about the salvation of the Jewish people and Paul also says that the Jews are still loved by God.

Romans 11:25-29:

” I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in (Note:the conversion of non-Jews)

And in this way all Israel (Note:all the Jewish nation) will be saved. As it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion;he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but:

1.As far as election (Note:their election as the Chosen People ) is concerned

2.They are loved on account of the patriarchs

3.For God’s gifts (Note:like the gift by God to the Jews, that of being the Chosen People) and his call are irrevocable.”

Allah says he prefers the Jews

Example 1

Chapter 2:47

Children of Israel, remember My blessing wherewith I blessed you, and that I have preferred you above all beings.”

Example 2

Chapter 2:122

Children of Israel, remember My blessing wherewith I blessed you, and that I have preferred you above all beings.”

Example 3

Chapter 45:16-17

“Indeed, We gave the Children of Israel the Book, the Judgment, and the Prophethood, and We provided them with good things, and We preferred them above all beings.

We gave them clear signs of the Command; so they differed not, except after the knowledge had come to them, being insolent one to another. Surely thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection touching their differences.”

But according to the Koran that preferance is also Conditional

That is to say that being the Chosen People was not permanent but depended on their behaviour.

Example 1

Chapter 5:18

“Say the Jews and Christians, “We are the sons of God, and His beloved ones.“Say: “Why then does He chastise you for your sins? No; you are mortals, of His creating; He forgives who He will, and He chastises whom He will.” For to God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them; to Him is the homecoming.”

Example 2

Chapter 17:2-7

“And We gave Moses the Book, and made it a guidance to the Children of Israel: “Take not to yourselves any guardian apart from Me.”
The seed of those We bore with Noah; he was a thankful servant.”

A reference to the First Destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem in 586 BC

The Koran says it is predicted in the Bible. The first temple was built by Solomon in 957 BC and destroyed by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC.Nebuchadnezzar is famous for building the Hanging Gardens of Babylon,30 stories tall,in honor of his wife.It was one of the 7 wonders of Antiquity.

“And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Book(Note:la Bible): “You will do corruption in the earth twice, and you will ascend exceeding high.”

So, when the promise of the first (Note:reference to the first prediction) of these came to pass, We sent against you servants of Ours, men of great might, and they went through the habitations, and it was a promise performed.”

Temple of Jerusalem

A reference to the Second Destruction of the Temple in 70 AD

It happened in 70 AD and was done by the Romans

“Then We gave back to you the turn to prevail over them, and We succoured you with wealth and children, and We made you a greater host.”If you do good, it is your own souls you do good to, and if you do evil it is to them likewise.”

Then, when the promise of the second (Note:reference to the second prediction) came to pass, We sent against you Our servants to discountenance you, and to enter the Temple (Note:le Temple de Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and to destroy utterly that which they ascended to.”
