Who are the Sikhs?

The word sikh in Sanskrit means “learner, disciple”.They are the followers of a religion created by a Hindu man called Nanak(1469-1539),which is a combination of Hinduism and Islam.Nanak was their first supreme leader and there were 9 others after him,and after that there have been no more.

Guru Arjan Dev (1563-1606)

He was the fifth of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and became the Guru of the Sikhs in 1581 after the death of his father Guru Ram Das.The word guru means teacher in Sanskrit. Guru Arjan died in 1606,killed by the Mughal Emperor of India, the Muslim Jahangir, for refusing to renounce Sikhism and become a Muslim.Guru Arjan had been the supreme leader of Sikhism for a quarter of a century.

The Astonishing Spread of Sikhism in the Punjab

From 1581-1601,during his rule, probably millions of people in the Punjab(what is now Eastern Pakistan and Indian Punjab)became Sikhs, not only Hindus but alot of Muslims and the Sikhs became the majority there. The Muslim Mughal Emperor Jahangir became afraid and alarmed by the astonishing popularity of the new religion.

About Jahangir (1569-1627)

He was the son of Akbar (1542-1605),the most famous ruler of the Mughal dynasty of India, who in fact, eventually became an apostate of Islam and founded his own religion, which died with him.Jahangir was in general a tolerant ruler and not a very pious Muslim. We have that:

1.When Akbar died he had a harem of 5,000 sex-slaves,Hindu women. When Jahangir came to power he increased the number to 6,000 Hindu women as sex-slaves.

2.He was a drug addict,of that there is no doubt, and he was addicted to opium.

3.He was also an alcoholic, loving wine, even though it is forbidden in the Koran,in chapter 5:90-91:

“O believers, wine and arrow-shuffling, idols and divining-arrows are an abomination, some of Satan’s work; so avoid it; haply So you will prosper.Satan only desires to precipitate enmity and hatred between you in regard to wine and arrow-shuffling, and to bar you from the remembrance of God, and from prayer. Will you then desist?”

4.The founder of the dynasty Babur(1483-1531) had written his autobiography and Jahangir decided to do the same,so we know him well.

The Mughals

They were a Muslim dynasty in India whose founder Babur or Babar(1483-1531) was a descendant of Genghiz Khan (1162-1227) and Tamerlane(1336-1405). Genghiz Khan was a Mongol ruler,non-Muslim, who founded an empire that at its height ruled 20% of the world and Tamerlane was his Muslim descendant,a true psychopath who killed some 17 million people,Muslim and non-Muslim.Tamerlane was lame, the story being he was stealing sheep and somebody shot an arrow into his knee.

The greatest of the Mughal rulers was Akbar (“Great” in Arabic”)(1542-1605) who had many faults in spite of his achievements. The last strong ruler of the Mughals was Aurangzeb(1618-1707) who was a religious fanatic, persecuting Hindus, and who destroyed the Mughal Empire in India.

Scholarly Source about Jahangir’s Addictions

Here are extracts from the book “The Hindus: an Alternative History”,by Wendy Doniger,drank+wine&source=bl&ots=2TsYDxzHNo&sig=ly9C5nsBclHxHOPYNbnecWAA_ME&hl=en&ei=2md-TuvAHMfY0QGH0agJ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCAQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=jahangir%20was%20opium%20addict%2Cdrank%20wine&f=false

Jahangir himself says he killed Arjan Dev,the Supreme Holy Leader of the Sikhs

In fact, his autobiography says he wanted Arjan Dev to convert to Islam.Jahangir’s memoirs state he ordered the execution of Arjan Dev.He also says another reason was Arjan’s support for Khusrau, and does not describe ordering any torture of the Guru. This suggests none was ordered, since Jahangir earlier describes the torture and execution of two other rebels in detail.

Who was Khusrau?

Khusrau (1587-1622) was the eldest son of the Mughal emperor Jahangir. His mother committed suicide in 1604 by consuming poison.Khusrau rebelled against his father in 1606 to see, who would succeed the emperor Akbar and received the blessings of Guru Arjan Dev.He was defeated in battle by his father and captured.

Blinded by his own Father

In 1607, Khusrau was ordered to be blinded as a punishment though his eyesight was never completely lost.

Murdered by his won Brother

In 1620, he was handed over to Prince Khurram, his brother, who was later known as emperor Shah Jahan. In 1622, he was killed on the orders of Prince Khurram. That was before Khurram became emperor, and ruled from 1628-1658.

The sons of Khusrau were Murdered by Shah Jahan, their own Uncle

After the death of Jahangir in 1627, Khusrau’s son, Prince Dawar briefly became ruler of the Mughal Empire, though it was only done as a political manoeuvre by a certain Asaf Khan, to secure the Mughal throne for Shah Jahan. Then, Shah Jahan was proclaimed as the emperor and ordered he death of Dawar and Garshasp, sons of Khusrau.

Shah Jahan also killed the 3 Sons of Daniyal, the Brother of Jahangir,Father of Shah Jahan

That was done at the same time as the death of Dawar and Garshasp. They were Shahryar,Tahmuras and Hoshang. What a sick dynasty.

The Grandson of Jahangir Tortured and Killed another Supreme Holy Leader of the Sikhs to Force him to become Muslim
